As a Registered Nurse Level IV, you will leverage your clinical expertise and leadership skills to develop and implement comprehensive care plans for patients. Additionally, you will serve as a mentor to fellow team members, providing guidance and support to ensure the highest standards of care on the unit.

The Charles J. August Joint Replacement Center at Unity Hospital is an Orthopedic Center of Excellence and achieved designation from DNV and is a Silver award Beacon recipient. It offers elective and emergency surgeries for adult patients including a variety of service specific specialties. Types of surgical procedures that are perform include: Hip, Knee and Shoulder joint replacement, Foot and Ankle surgeries. The emergency surgery patients are complex and require medical optimization and treatment of medical comorbidities prior and after surgical interventions. It is an acute medical/surgical, telemetry unit. It is a 16 bed unit that cares for patients with acute medical conditions and surgical procedures. This unit also caters to patients that are diagnosed with drug and alcohol withdrawal, high flow oxygen, comfort care and pain control issues. Our staff are trained to provide care using negative pressure wound therapy, different mechanical lift devices and work very closely with the physical and occupational department in order to optimize our patients and ensure a safe discharge.

This role is part of the Registered Nurse Level IV / Clinical Nurse IV must complete the following:

  • Complete the Clinical Ladder binder within 12 months of employment
  • Minimum of 5 activities in each Pillar (Leadership, Quality, and Organizational Contribution)
  • 15 Continuing education units (CEU's)
  • 20 Flex items

STATUS: Full Time

LOCATION: Unity Hospital

DEPARTMENT: Joint Replacement Center

SCHEDULE: Day/Evening/Night - Every other weekend / holiday

Desired Attributes

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required.
  • Minimum of 6 months experience as a registered nurse.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Responsibilities

  • Patient Care & Service. Promote and restore patients' health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; performing various treatment procedures; providing physical, educational and emotional support to patients, friends and families; supervising assigned team members
  • Planning & Communication. Develop and document individualized care plans customized for each patient’s unique needs, with support from the interdisciplinary health team as needed; maintain effective communication to convey patient health status, treatment plans and progress
  • Electronic Health Record (EHR) Management. Demonstrate proficient use of an EHR – including accurate patient and provider documentation and communication
  • Compliance. Adhere to required department and system protocols, regulations (local, state, federal) and education requirements

BS: Nursing (Required)

Licenses / Certifications

BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA), RN - Registered Nurse - New York State Education Department (NYSED)

Physical Requirements

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
