LPN or RN Flexible Self-Directed Schedule New

This nursing position offers a rewarding opportunity in a 2-bedroom Comfort Care home, which provides the dying and their loved ones with support, comfort, and care in a peaceful, loving place that allows death with dignity and grace. This nursing position will allow you to work alongside caring and devoted staff and volunteers.

Job duties:

• Be on call and available during 24-hour shifts to assist volunteers or night staff with any concerns.
• Assist either by phone or in person at the Sunset House as needed.
• During your 24-hour shift, cover open volunteer shifts or night shifts as needed.

Use nursing judgement and critical thinking skills to guide night staff and volunteers, working together with other Sunset House nursing staff as needed.

• Work in conjunction with the Rochester Regional Health and URMC Hospice nurses to support patients with end-of-life symptoms.

Requirements:

• Must have an updated, valid LPN or RN license.
• Must have reliable transportation and a mobile device.
• Some experience with hospice care preferred, or desire to take care of dying people and their loved ones.
